Part A will be done in class.

Look at the text examples provided by your teacher. Consider the placement of the words, font, size and color of the text, spelling, and other visual elements. Make notes to yourself on a left side page in your science notebook.

Part B is homework.

While you will probably use many elements in your book, pick 2 elements from one of the texts you've reviewed and post your response to the following questions:
  1. Write the title and the author of the book you chose.
  2. Describe the visual element you chose.
  3. Explain why you think the author chose to present his/her work in that way? In other words, how does the element add to the meaning of the story?
  4. Now look at your own story.
  5. Identify 2-3 places within your work that you could apply a similar visual technique to enhance the meaning of your work.
    • How will you arrange your words/pictures?
    • How will this arrangement enhance your message?

Your post is due on Tuesday, 4/27/10 by 11:59 PM.
